Durand

Durand is my very lively 2 1/2 year old son. Who we very lovingly call "Bubba"!! Our sweet Bubba is finding his own personality and starting to stand out from his 2 older sisters and younger brother. He is becoming a very funny active boy. Here are a few of funny "Bubba Stories"
~~On Easter weekend all 6 of us loaded up in the yukon to travel out of town for a volleyball tournament. Will and I felt this would be a great time to share the Easter story with our kids. We knew going in that Makenna~14 and Zaylee~5 would be the only ones to really listen to this beautiful story. We thought Zaylee would have some sweet comments, Makenna would have some great insight, Turner would scream and cry a little, and Durand would interrupt and say something very random. Will was getting into the story pretty deep and everyone was falling into line with what I had thought would happen. Except Durand, he was listening......ummm...I really thought he was to young. I was thinking, "Wow, Bubba is so young but he is getting it. We talk about Jesus all the time and we go to church and pray every night....and he is really getting it!!!" I felt like a proud mommy. Then it happened! Will was finishing up when Durand chimed in. We had just finished talking about how Jesus forgave everyone for doing this to Him. Durand, "Momma, huh huh I will get my gun and I will SHOOT the people!!!!" It was such a boy thing to say! We all had a huge laugh!! (oh, and the Easter Bunny had to bring him a gun!!)
~~Tonight Durand got to stay up a little later than normal and spend some extra time with his big sister "Ma-tenna". They watch some of a movie and then he hung out with her while she loaded up the dishwasher. He came running into the living room so happy and so excited, but it was time to get ready for bed. So, I striped off his shirt, shoes, socks and pants. Leaving him only in his undies so he could go potty then I would put him in his pj's. Next thing I know Durand is running full speed at me screaming "TAADAA" BUTT-NAKED!! Funny I have never heard anyone say "taadaa" when they get naked! I send him to his room to get new undies on. I snuck in to see what he was up to and I came in just in time to see him looking in his underwear drawer searching for the perfect pair. Finally he said, "Bock-it" So cute Bubba picked out boxers!

Baking Contest

Well, much to my surprise, my cookies didn't place!! I was shocked and I figure something was rigged! lol My Mom's cookies won....if it wasn't me I'm glad it was her!
On the other hand my cake tied for 2nd! Funny thing is it tied for 2nd with my Mom's cake!! lol I know funny, right?
My dad won the chili cookoff, I'm not surprised he is a great cook! Then Will and Makenna's volleyball team won the volleyball tournament. (not surprised about that one either).
So the Turner/Carson family brought home 4 blue ribbons and 2 seconde places! Not bad for a 10,000 memeber church!

Baking Contest

I'm entering a baking contest at my church, Trinity Fellowship. http://www.tfchurch.org/
I'm so excited! There are 4 different areas to compete in and of course I entered all four!! I have already done a test run for my cookies and they were so yummy!! I'm making Dark Chocolate Gooey Cookies.
Then for the Cake competition I'm making Caramel Cream Cake from a Southern Living Cookbook. I made it for Christmas and it was very good. But very hard, every part is made from scratch and it took me 2 days!
The open competition I'm making Strawberry Banana Nut Bread. I'm taking some parts of my Banana bread recipe and some of my mom's recipe. Together it should be perfect!
Then in the Pie competition I am making Mamaw's Sweet Potato Pie! Which is my husband's favorite pie of all time! Mamaw is from Mississippi but she lives in Georgia now. So, she is Ms. Southern Living!! lol
Here are a few pictures of the Dark Chocolate Gooey Cookies!!

Wish me luck!

Happily Ever After

Will & I got married on Feb. 25th 2001. From the day we met to the day we married it had been 10 months. I'm sure you have heard before, "when you know, you just know"......well, in our case this was true.

I was so young and I always thought that there was 1 person out there for everyone. That God had made someone special just for me. "Happily Ever After" I so wish someone had been there to tell me this was not true! Will and I love each other very much and we are very happy. But, it is hard work to be married.

Will is an out going out spoken man. He is very dedicated and hardworking. He is passionate and charismatic. Will is so intelligent and loves God. He is a strong leader and a great daddy. Even though Will is so many wonderful things, we still have our fights.

No one is perfect and when you put 2 imperfect people together forever.....you have to compromise. We have to give and take. Win some and lose some. But the most important thing is trust in God and let Him into your marriage. Don't give up!

Past: The kind people dream of

I have been wanting to start a blog but really had no idea where to start. So, I will start with my past.

I have had a really wonderful and blessed life. The kind of life people dream of.

My parents got married very young, in the year of 1975. They lost their first daughter, Mandy. But tried again and had a beautiful perfect daughter in June of 1978, my big sister, Misty. Then in 1980 they had ME!!

I have been going to church since I was 3 years old. I can't remember a time that I haven't believed in or trusted in God. I was a really good kid, never got into trouble. Pretty much did everything like I was told. I played volleyball, basketball, ran track, cheerleading, choir, and many other clubs.

After high school I went to a junior college, until I met my future husband, Will. When Will and I met I was 19 and he was 26. I was still living at home with my parents and my sister had just gotten married. Will and I met playing city league volleyball.

Will and I started dating the end of April and he proposed to me on August 8, 2000. We got married on Feb. 25, 2001. We just celebrated 9 years!!

xoxo,

Sabra=)
